El 25 de septiembre los estudiantes Samuel Bueno, Manuela Cadavid, Tomás García, María José Uribe y Felipe Vargas de los grados 9° y 10° junto a Diana Behar, directora de orientación profesional, y Camilo Villamizar, profesor de sociales, viajaron a la Conferencia Internacional de Round Square.
El lema de la conferencia de este año es : “Sarvodaya: The worlds we wish to see” y tiene como objetivo abordar temas relacionados a cómo cambiar el mundo y cómo moldearse a sí mismo de acuerdo a lo que se quiere ser en la vida.
Esta delegación estará en The Emerald Heights International School y harán un pre-tour en ciudades como Agra, Jaiupur, Madawa y Nueva Delhi.
Exploring Diversity, Discrimination, Conflict, And Action In Global Perspectives
This semester the English and Social Studies Departments collaborated to offer Global Perspectives, an interdisciplinary elective course for tenth and eleventh graders. We offered three sections of the course taught by an English teacher and a Social Studies teacher. We had 29 students working on topics about identity, diversity, discrimination, conflict, and actions to understand social change and social order with a focus on socio-cultural issues in Colombia and in the world.
Appris à poser des questions
Dans le cours de Français III, nos étudiants ont appris à poser des questions : à l’oral (en situation informelle) et à l’écrit (en situation formelle). Pour mettre en place leurs connaissances, nos élèves ont créé une enquête où ils posaient des questions à un membre francophone de notre communauté Nogalista, sur un thème particulier.
Digital Detox Day
On Tuesday the 9th of November the school community was challenged to “Detox” from screen time for a 12 hour period. A large number of students and teachers voluntarily took part in logging their ‘screen time’ early in the morning and then again in the evening.
