Happy thanksgiving
El jueves se celebró el Día de Acción de Gracias en Estados Unidos. En el colegio compartimos un delicioso almuerzo tradicional de pechuga de pavo al horno con ensalada de papa y en Preescolar y Primaria tuvimos algunas actividades para aprender un poco más sobre esta tradición.
¿Qué significa Thanksgiving?
Algunos de nuestros profesores nos contaron un poco sobre los que significa para ellos Thanksgiving:
“I love Thanksgiving because my family gathers around a table full of traditional American food that we don’t take the time to prepare most days of the year. We spend time in the morning baking a Turkey, mashing potatoes, baking pecan pie, drinking coffee, and enjoying time off from work together. It has none of the commercialized pressure of Christmas (though I also love that holiday). Instead, we eat, watch football, play some football in the street or board games, and generally spend time together overeating. During my time in Colombia, it’s the holiday I miss being with my family the most” Christopher Rutherford
“Thanksgiving is a holiday to celebrate together and to be grateful for the special people in our lives. Sharing stories while enjoying a meal with family and friends is an opportunity to connect and create new memories” Tammy Dobrzynski
