Teaching Reading to Read and to Learn

Inscripciones hasta el 22 de marzo

The “Teaching Reading to Read and to Learn” workshop seeks for teachers to identify different strategies and class dynamics to teach reading and to encourage a taste for reading. Teachers will be able to recognize the different stages in the development of this skill from preschool through elementary school. The workshop will review the components of the “Balanced Literacy” approach related to reading. In the same way, the different types of reading characterized and analyzed by Lucy Calkins, Gay Su Pinnell and Irene C. Fountas will be studied. Participants will build their portfolio with the lessons learned in order to transform some aspects of their teaching didactics, at the same time that they will have the opportunity to experience the benefits of its application in the classroom.

Aimed at preschool and elementary school teachers. An adequate level of English reading is required.
