Guided Reading Level M
Books in level M are long, with lots of text per page, smaller print, and narrower word spacing. There is a wide variety of texts but they all have complex language structures and sophisticated vocabulary. They are highly detailed and descriptive and present more abstract concepts and themes. The subtleties of these texts require more background knowledge. Many characters are involved in more complex and expanded plots; character development is a prominent feature.
