Guided Reading Level C
Books at level C also have simple story lines and topoics that are familiar to children. They tend to be longer than level B books but still have only a few (two or five) lines of text on a page. At this level more of the story is carried by the text, but pictues are still very important in supporting meaning and there is a direct correspondence between text and pictures. Print appears on both left and right pages but it is still clearly separated from text. Oral language structures are used and often repeated, and phrasing is often supported by print placement. Frequently encountered words ae used more often, and there is a full range of punctuation.
